It’s something you might not think about too often, but as a contractor or freelancer, how good are you at what you do?
Chances are if you’re on our website, you’re probably a contractor, and we know first hand how talented and skilled many freelancers and contractors in the UK today are.
But without trying to get all Tina Turner about it, are you better than all the rest?
Well, if you think that might be the case, IPSE is giving you the chance to put yourself forward and potentially get nationally recognised for your work.
As part of National Freelancer Day 2018, IPSE is running a series of awards covering a range of areas. It encourages workers such as contractors and other freelance workers to put themselves forward.
As well recognition for the winners, there’s a nice £5000 for the winner to invest in their work.
The awards cover five categories – Freelancer of the Year, Young Freelancer of the Year, Co-working Space of the year, Ambassador of the Year and University Partner of the Year. All are set to be handed out at a ceremony in May at Kings Place in Central London.
Speakers at the event will be announced soon, and nominations for awards should be sent in by the end of March. That can be done here.
Richard Jeffs, Founder and CEO of FreelanceDiary, was a runner-up in 2016 and received £2,500 to support his business. He told IPSE Magazine: “If you’re a talented individual then do make the effort to apply. The finalists were from a mixture of industries and all had very different skillsets. Every freelancer has a chance to win a large cash prize, and receiving an award can change your life overnight.”
So, could you have what it takes to be announced as the UK’s freelancer of the year? If you don’t nominate yourself, you’ll never know!
