New statistics have indicated a moderate rise in the number of temporary positions available in the UK labour market, continuing recent positive trend with regards to contractor opportunities and jobs.

According to a report from The Markit and The Recruitment and Employment Confederation, September saw a marked increase in contract and temporary staff billings. While the rise was not quite as steep as that seen in August – the highest in three months – the news is still indicative of the vast number of opportunities currently out there for contractors in the UK.

The report found an increase in the number of contractor opportunities in both the private and public sectors.

Contractor opportunities were equally shared throughout the country, proving that London is not the be all and end all when it comes to contractor jobs out there currently.

The figures are further indication that the UK’s decision to leave the European Union has not had the radical impact on the UK labour market as some had feared.
