Andy Vessey

Andy is widely recognised as one of the UK’s foremost IR35 experts, having personally defended more than 500 IR35 cases, the overwhelming majority of which he has won. Most recently, for example, Andy successfully represented Jensal Software Ltd at the First-tier Tax Tribunal in their highly publicised IR35 appeal. Andy has 38 years of tax experience and specialises in employment status matters. He has been involved with IR35 since its introduction in 2000. Andy started his tax life at the Inland Revenue (now HMRC) before going on to work for various sized accountancy practices and even running his own practice, V-Tax Consulting. He had a long association with Qdos where he was latterly Head of Tax, before joining Larsen Howie in early 2019. In 1993, Andy qualified with the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT).

Ryan Dawson

Ryan's professional career began whilst studying a law degree at DMU, Leicester. He was awarded a prestigious internship working with the FIFA World Cup Organising Committee and Legal Office during the 2014 world cup in Brazil, based in Sao Paulo having fought off 6000 other candidates. After graduating with an LLB Law Degree, his focus turned to insurance and began working at Qdos, working closely with Legal Expenses and Tax Investigation claims. Since moving to Larsen Howie, he's been committed to helping clients understand and protect themselves from IR35.

Matt Tyler

Matt has been dealing with IR35 for the past seven years having worked previously for Qdos, then most recently making the move over to Larsen Howie to head up the IR35 Consultancy Team. He has a firm understanding of the underpinning rules relating to IR35 and has a great deal of experience dealing with the many and varied quirks that come with this rather murky legislation.

Hannah Robinson

After graduating from De Montfort University with a degree in Literature in 2014, Hannah has worked in every area of creative marketing since. She has freelanced as a journalist, worked in-house as a copywriter and has project managed for a variety of international clients with UK advertising agencies. She now writes in-house for Larsen Howie, keeping a keen eye on all things contracting and tax.

Pete Willcocks

Pete began Larsen Howie back in 2015 and has pushed the business to enormous growth through sheer determination, great business sense, a big book full of connections and not a small amount of hard work. He has been involved in the insurance industry and IR35 since 2005, including a decade at Qdos - where at the point of leaving he was a group board director. Pete is a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, a past President of the Insurance Institute of Leicester, a past Chairman for the East Midlands branch of the British Insurance Brokers Association, and if it isn’t obvious, lives and breathes insurance and IR35.

Rebecca Lambert

Rebecca has worked in the publishing industry for over a decade and runs her own content business, working with local companies and large multinational organisations to produce blog posts, feature-length articles and reports covering a variety of business-related subject matters. She holds a degree in History from the University of Leicester, is the former head of editorial at a UK publishing house and has travelled the globe as editor of numerous business-to-business publications. George Smith

Currently a second-year student studying Finance at the University of Greenwich, George has previous experience working within the asset management branch of a London property firm. His experience focused on both corporate and service charge accounting. This summer George has successfully passed a taxation module at university, earning himself an exemption to ACCA’s F6 taxation paper.

Chris Carvill

Chris has worked within the contractor industry for well over a decade, having previously held the position of Sales Manager at Qdos Contractor. After a period working as a contractor himself, Chris joined Larsen Howie as Operations Director in 2017. Over the years, Chris has developed extensive IR35 knowledge and how this legislation affects contractors. He now holds overall responsibility for the IR35 Consultancy team and ensures that all clients receive the very best advice and service.
